Xavier Schipani Believes in Teams
Xavier is drawing the worlds that often remain unseen, the secret life of tribes unknown. Lives that exist and thrive on instinct and simplicity. Anthropology is the "study of human beings everywhere, throughout the course of time" The figures in her drawings exist somewhere and the time is definitely now. She pulls inspiration from great thinkers, peaceful observers, and furious warriors. She reads about what she cannot see, creating patterns for emotions that she cannot feel or understand. She makes lists, catlouges images, highlights passages and records statements to weave the framework of her drawings. She draws mostly from memory, but likes to be surrounded by her treasured clippings. She is most interested in showing her work in galleries, she likes to work big, so that the idea of living and entering into her world is "life size". She is currently working on paper and wood to capture this, but is contemplating the 3-D realm.
